Life as Usual
Life got back on track tonight. (SPOILER WARNING.) It was full of dark humor and some mild insanity, but Detective Reese (Sarah Shahi) was back to being a cop instead of a Playboy bunny, and Crews (Damian Lewis) wasn’t making out with any Playboy bunnies. Instead we got a murdered man buried in a lawn with his head as the centerpiece of a flower, and two death-loving freaky murder museum owners. Life was thankfully back to “normal”. Crews was his usual quirky self, standing in the fresh grave up to his neck and commenting on the unique view of the world it gave him.
We also got a glimpse into the more serious aspects of Life’s arc, with Crews gaining another piece of the puzzle in his quest to find out who framed him. We’re also left on a cliffhanger, with Agent Bodner (Shashawnee Hall) making good on his threats to Charlie by getting Ted (Adam Arkin) falsely imprisoned on drug and gun charges. I’m looking forward to next week to see how Crews solves this latest problem. He tells Bodner that Ted can’t handle another tour in prison, but the big issue here is that Ted shouldn’t have to suffer like this for Crews’ stubbornness. I can’t really imagine Crews giving up the chase, so we’ll have to see what he comes up with–or doesn’t come up with.
Tune in to Life on NBC Wednesdays, at 9pm Eastern/8pm Central.
