Primetime Gem Burn Notice
Burn Notice should be on your Must-Watch list. This crazy-sexy spy show stars Jeffrey Donovan (Changeling, Touching Evil) as Michael Westen, a former spy who got burned–i.e., set up for a dishonorable discharge from the spy business. Getting burned pretty much leaves you persona non grata, with no job, no money, and lots of people possibly trying to kill you. Westen makes his way in the world as a brain/gun for hire for clients who can’t use official channels for one reason or another. Many times these are hard luck cases of innocent (or dumb) people who get caught up in bad business that’s way over their head, and Westen is their only shot of getting out of it alive.
Helped on these enterprising and sometimes crusading missions is Westen’s ex-girlfriend Fiona (Gabrielle Anwar), a sultry and violent vixen who loves to blow stuff up, and buddy Sam (Bruce Campbell), a jovial and easygoing con man who still knows how to turn on the Evil when needed. The three partner up for elaborate con games, surveillance, shoot-outs, robberies, and just your basic Outsmarting the Bad Guy scenarios.
All this leads up to Burn Notice being one hell of an entertaining show. It’s refreshing to tune in to a program each week that just has you grinning from beginning to end. Burn Notice’s Michael Westen is just too cool for words, Sam has a wicked sense of humor, and Fiona is one of the few believable bad-ass chicks on TV–despite the fact that she’s so incredibly wee. She’s smart and her skill with weapons makes up for any size discrepancies between her and her enemies. A grenade will do more than a fist any day of the week.

Ergh. I have Firefox and they show fine. I tried IE and you’re right, they don’t show–(the Torchwood one is a vid, too, yes.) I put a question to the administrators, so hopefully there’ll be a way to fix it. If not I’ll have to put a note up that says “Best viewed in Firefox”!

Oh my do I adore this show. I’m glad you’re spreading the word. Granted the format is the same for every episode, but the performances, pacing, humor, dialogue, explosions, and general all-around awesomeness mean that it is ALWAYS an amazing ride. But really, could you ever go wrong with a hot MacGuyver + a badass Irish lass + Bruce Campbell? I think not.
I can’t wait for Season 3!
